Students Hone Coding Skills During Computer Science Education Week

In honor of Computer Science Education Week, classrooms across the country participated in Hour of Code December 3-9, 2018. Our CFSD students also took part in refining their coding skills with the help of their Classroom Teacher, Robotics Teacher, and Curriculum Technology Integrator!

Even if there was only time for a 20-minute lesson, students across the district practiced coding in one form or another. Some students got to use Legos to code. Others got to pretend their desk partner was a robot and had to use arrows to direct their partner how to build a cup sequence. And still others used sites/software for coding like Scratch, Bits 'n' Bricks, Swift Playgrounds and Tynker.

We look forward to continuing with Hour of Code and implementing those skills into our district curriculum.
